Heating

The heating of the unit (greenhouse and other installations) is achieved by 5 Greek kernel boilers, that use the kernel of the olive, which is abundant in the area. It must be noted that the burning material is exclusively biomass; the balance of carbon dioxide on the energy footprint of the unit is zero.

The chambers are heated by a tube system that contains water and the climate is controlled by a computer system. The excessive heat is transferred outside the rooms, through a controlled fan system, affecting the external parameters, such as the air, the temperature and the moisture.

In order to preserve the ideal temperature for the plants, any excessive heat is removed by the fans. The chambers must be kept at a temperature of 16–26°C during the whole year.
